CHELSEA INTO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL AFTER NINE YEARS

Itahari, Two goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount helped Chelsea to earn them a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge, setting up an all English Champions League final with Manchester City.

Chelsea opened their score sheet with an easy tap-in from Timo Werner on 28^th minute of the game. Kai Havertz tried to loft the ball over Real Madrid’s Goal Keeper-Thibaut Courtois but it bounced back off the crossbar and an easiest chance of scoring for Werner.

Chelsea were firm in the backline with Edouard Mendy on the goal. He denied Madrid’s Karim Benzema twice from scoring with some acrobatic saves. Seeing the performance of Chelsea, they should have scored more than just two goals but some credit should be given to Madrid’s Goalkeeper Courtois.

Chelsea were able to held a 1-1 draw on the 1^st leg of Semi-final when they visited Real Madrid on Santiago Bernabéu. Second leg was all about Chelsea only as they beat Madrid 2-0 making the final scores 3-1 on aggregate.

MANCHESTER CITY IN CL FINAL

This season’s Champion League is going to be an all English Champions League for the 3^rd time. Chelsea had to wait 9 years to once again be in the Champions League final whereas Manchester City will be playing their first final. The final will be played on 29^th of May, 2021 on Istanbul.
