LILLE CHAMPIONS OF FRANCE AFTER TEN YEARS, JUVENTUS SEAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLACE WITH A MASSIVE WIN

Lille players celebrating after winning French League after a decade

Chatara, Lille have been crowned Ligue 1 champions after 10 years following a 2-1 victory over Angers SCO on Sunday night.

Christophe Galtier’s side have topped Ligue 1 for much of the second half of the season and their battle with Paris Saint-Germain went down to the final match of the campaign. PSG won their game 2-0 at Brest, but that victory was not enough to claim their fourth domestic title in a row as Lille secured a memorable win against the odds.

Canadian forward Jonathan David put them in front after being played in by Renato Sanches, Ten minutes into Lille’s match against Angers. Lille doubled their lead in first-half added time with a penalty, as veteran striker Burak Yilmaz scored his 16th goal of the season. Angelo Fulgini scored a 92^nd minute goal for Angers to make it 2-1, but Lille held on for the final few seconds to secure their title.

In Seria A, Juventus beat Bologna 4-1 and qualify for the Champions League as Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by Hellas Verona.

Cristiano Ronaldo was dropped to bench by Andrea Pirlo in the most decisive game of the season. Juventus needed a win and hope Milan or Napoli drop points in their game. Chiesa opened the scoring on the 5^th minute of the game. Morata doubled the lead on 28^th minute whereas Rabiot put the Old Lady clearly in charge as he scored third goal for the team in 44^th minute just before first half stoppage time. Morata scored his second and team’s fourth goal just after half time on 46^th minute. Bologna only manages to get a consolation goal on 84^th minute of the game.

Ac Milan sealed a return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years as two penalties from Frank Kessie earned them a 2-0 victory over Atlanta who also secured a top four finish.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side Napoli dropped out of Champions League places on the final day of the season as they only managed to a 1-1 draw at home to mid-table Hellas Verona. Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms that Napoli coach Gattuso will leave the club following their fifth place finish in Seria A.
