EURO 2020: CZECH REPUBLIC AND SLOVAKIA WITH A WIN, SPAIN AND SWEDEN PLAYED A GOALLESS DRAW

Czech Republic and Slovakia opened their UEFA Euro campaign with a win whereas Spain began Euro 2020 with a Frustrating draw

Chatara, The Czech Republic silenced a 12,000 crowd at Hampden last night with a 2-0 win over Scotland. Patrik Schick's double earned Czech Republic a famous victory against Scotland in the Euro 2020 Group D opener. Schick opened the scoring on 42^nd minute of the game with a beautiful header and doubled the lead on 52^nd minute with his stunning strike from just inside the Scotland half that will live in the memory as one of the all-time great European Championship goals. With this win, Czech Republic leads group D on goal difference whereas England stays on second place, Croatia and Scotland on third and fourth respectively.

In the next match, Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar strike on 69^th minute gave Slovakia a 2-1 victory over Poland. An own goal from Poland goalkeeper Szczesny handed Slovakia the lead on 18^th minute, but Karol Linetty equalized for Poland right at the start of the second half. Poland were reduced to 10 men when Polish Midfielder Krychowiak picked up a second yellow card on 62^nd minute of the game. With this win, Slovakia leads group E whereas Spain, Sweden and Poland stays on second, third and fourth place respectively.

In the last match of the night, Spain were held to a goalless draw by Sweden in their Euro 2020 Group E opening game. Luis Enrique’s side enjoyed a long spells of possession of 85% but lack in attacking third cost them the three points. Spain registered 17 shots on goal with 5 shots on target but were unable to pass the Swedish goalkeeper.
