EURO CUP 2020 WARM-UP: ENGLAND AND FRANCE GRAB A WIN, NETHERLANDS AND GERMANY HELD A DRAW

Chatara: With Euro Cup looming over the head, four big teams of Europe were in action last night in an International Friendly; warm-up match week before the Europe’s biggest soccer tournament.

France and England were able to secure a win in their respective matches against Wales and Austria.

France came out in the field with a powerful squad to send a loud and clear message to other teams of Europe, as Didier Deschamps lined up his attack with Benzema, Mbappe and Griezmann. Although Benzema misses a penalty in the 27^th minute of the game, he was involved in every attack.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 35^th minute of the game which was doubled by Griezmann just three minutes into the second half. Later Dembele scored a third and sealed the win for the reigning, Defending World Champion. As Nico Williams of Wales was sent off on 26^th minute of the game, Wales spend most of their time defending as France were totally dominant throughout the game.

In the other match, England grab a narrow win against Austria. Manager Gareth Southgate saw his experimental side secure the victory when Arsenal teenager Bukayo Saka made a fine move with an angled finish for his first international goal in 56^th minute.

Germany, who were dominant throughout the match, has to settle for a draw against Denmark. Florian Neuhaus opened the scoring for Germany on 48^th minute of the game which was cancelled out by Poulsen on 71^st minute which was Denmark’s only shots on target. The Germans, who take on Latvia in their final warmup on June 7, will face world champions France in their opener on June 15 and also play reigning European champions Portugal and Hungary in Group F.

Memphis Depay's brace denied Scotland an eye-catching victory over the Netherlands. The Dutch side saw themselves behind Scotland in both halves. Jack Hendry gave lead to Scotland on 11^th minute of the game. Memphis Depay came to the rescue of the Dutch side as he scored the equalizer on 17^th minute. Scotland took the lead once again on 64^th minute of the game with a goal from Kevin Nisbet. After winning a soft free-kick on the edge of the box, Depay whipped in a fierce shot to score his second goal of the match and the equalizer on 89^th minute.

All eight teams are preparing for their upcoming matches of Euro Cup 2020 which is scheduled to kick off from June 11.
